Bio
MARIA ELENA FANTASIA - BIOGRAPHY
She was born in Enna, Sicily, a region to which she is very attached.
She attended a language high school and graduated in law in Milan.
She left for Paris where, after three years, she graduated from the Ecole Claude Matthieu, a school for acting technique and art. At the same time, she attended courses in modern and contemporary art at the Sorbonne and the Ecole des Beaux Arts. She became assistant to the great French stage photographer Claude Gafner.
She worked as a French-speaking actress for 10 years in Parisian and French theatres.
She returned to Milan after 12 years and attended the Piccolo Teatro di Milano for an internship in directing two plays by Luca Ronconi.
At the end of the internship, she decided to try her hand at business, heading up the communications, press office, public relations and major events departments of two real estate companies.
She then decided to return to creative activities, devoting herself entirely to her lifelong passions: photography, writing and theatre.
In the field of photography, she deepened her technical knowledge by attending courses, workshops and masterclasses. Among others, she studied with Patrick Zachmann and Alex Majoli (Magnum Agency) and with Luca Bigazzi on lighting.
She particularly loves portraiture and stage photography and has been exploring the relationship between photography and writing for years.
She cannot help but approach commissioned work with the same care she puts into her personal projects.
She lives between Milan and Paris.
